One of the tricky things about pizza photography is of course the lighting, but along with that goes the presentation of the food by the stylist. The other week the food stylist and I had to do the pizza pull. With the pizza pull you only get one or two shots at it before you’ve got to start again. In this case, it was the second pizza that was the hero!
The stylist makes the pizza and pre-cuts the slice, then loads it with cheese, bakes it, adds toppings and bakes it again. When the pizza is brought to the set, the lifter is already in place. The pizza is then lowered over the lifter and the shots taken. Within minutes the shots done. I think we got some pretty good results on this one. Let us know what you think.
